Tanjungpinang, 23 November 2023. Head of the Kepulaun Anambas  Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Adi Cahyadi, attended the 2023 Kepulauan Riau Province Public Information Openness (KIP) awarding which took place in the Wan Seri Beni Hall, Kepulaun Riau Province Governor's Office, Dompak Island, Tanjung Pinang. The activity was attended by the Governor of the Kepulaun Riau, Chairman of the Kepulaun Riau Information Commission, and Heads of Public Bodies consisting of Regency/City Government Public Bodies, Vertical Public Bodies at the Kepulauan Riau Province level, Vertical Public Bodies at the Regency/City level, and Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) at the Kepulauan Riau Province. The series of awarding events began with singing the song Indonesia Raya and continued with the presentation of the Sekapur Sirih Dance.

The opening event was continued with a report from the Chief Executive by the Head of the Kepulauan Riau Province Communication and Information Service, Hasan, S.Sos. In the report, it was stated that the aim of this activity was monitoring and evaluation activities related to public information disclosure which were carried out as an effort to measure the level of compliance and implementation carried out by public bodies in accordance with the mandate of Law no. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information, especially in the Kepulauan Riau Province. The purpose of this monitoring and evaluation is to see the extent to which public bodies carry out their roles and duties in implementing information disclosure. This activity is a work program of the Kepulauan Riau Information Commission which is very important in efforts to realize good governance that supports good, transparent, participatory and accountable government governance. In the report, it was also stated that the 2023 KIP assessment was attended by 131 public bodies divided into 4 categories. Of the 131 questionnaires distributed to public bodies, the number of public bodies that returned questionnaires was 95 public bodies.

The event continued with remarks from the Chairman of the Kepulauan Riau Information Commission, Hamdani, S. Sos., who conveyed the importance of openness of Public Information. He also said that this year the information commission had received several lawsuits and public information disputes which were grouped into several cases, namely requests for budget realization in public bodies, resolution of information about land ownership, distribution of social assistance budgets, realization of school operational assistance funds, information about employment issues, etc. However, this problem can be resolved either through a mediation process or a non-litigation adjudication trial.

After the welcoming ceremony, the decision letter on the results of the ranking of public information openness at the Kepulauan Riau province level in 2023 was read by the commissioner of the Kepulauan Riau provincial information commission, Mr. Drs. H. Muhammad Djuhari. He said that in the district/city level government category there are 3 public bodies that are informative, 1 public body that is informative, 1 public body that is quite informative, 1 public body that is less informative, 1 public body that is not informative. In the vertical category at the provincial level there are 6 informative public bodies, 3 public bodies that are informative, 1 public body that is less informative, 3 public bodies that are not informative, and 6 public bodies that did not return the questionnaire. In the vertical category at the district/city level there are 7 public bodies that are informative, 5 public bodies that are informative, 9 public bodies that are quite informative, 6 public bodies that are less informative, 13 public bodies that are not informative, and 22 public bodies that did not return the questionnaire. In the OPD category within the Riau Islands provincial government, there are 2 informative OPDs, 1 OPD towards informative, 3 OPDs that are quite informative, 4 OPDs that are less informative, 25 OPDs that are not informative, and 8 OPDs did not return questionnaires.

Public Bodies that receive the Public Information Openness award with informative qualifications are as follows. Regency/City Level Vertical Public Agency Category:

  1. BPS Kepulauan Anambas  Regency with a score of 97.9
  2. Karimun Regency Ministry of Religion Office with a score of 97
  3. BAWASLU Batam City with a score of 92.35
  4. BAWASLU Karimun Regency with a score of 90.6
  5. BPS Karimun Regency with a score of 90.5
  6. BAWASLU Bintan Regency with a score of 90.3
  7. Tanjungpinang KPU with a score of 90.1
The award certificate was handed over by the Governor of the Kepulauan Riau, H. Ansar Ahmad S.E., M.M.. In handing over the certificate, it was stated that the highest score in the public Information Openness assessment was achieved by the Kepulauan Anambas Regency with a score of 97.9 in the informative classification. The event closed with a group photo session and remarks by the governor who congratulated all KIP award recipients. He also expressed his hope to create a clean government by increasing the value of information disclosure. In his response, the Head of BPS Kepulauan Anambas Regency expressed his deepest gratitude to KIP Kepulauan Riau for his guidance and all levels of BPS Kepulauan Anambas Regency who had worked together to achieve this achievement.
