Abstract

The increase in the Anambas Islands Human Development Index in 2023 is supported by an increase in its three constituent dimensions, namely the longevity and healthy living dimension as measured by Life Expectancy at Birth (UHH), the knowledge dimension as measured by Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) and Average Years of Schooling (RLS), and the decent standard of living dimension as measured by the average real expenditure per capita per year adjusted.
The growth of the 2023 Human Development Index accelerated from the previous year. All dimensions forming the Human Development Index increased, especially the decent standard of living and knowledge.
In the longevity and healthy living dimension, babies born in 2023 have a life expectancy of up to 73.50 years, an increase of 0.37 years compared to those born in the previous year. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses the results of the Long Form SP2020 (SP2020-LF).
In the knowledge dimension, the expected length of schooling (HLS) of the population aged 7 years increased by 0.16 years compared to the previous year, from 12.89 to 13.05 years, while the average length of schooling (RLS) of the population aged 25 years and over increased by 0.02 years, from 7.38 years to 7.40 years in 2023. The HLS and RLS data sources use the March Susenas results. The decent living standard dimension measured by the average real expenditure per capita per year (adjusted) increased by 358 thousand rupiah (2.95 percent) compared to the previous year. The data source for real expenditure per capita per year uses the March Susenas results.
